Our beliefs

Mission Statement

We are a ministry founded on biblical truths. We serve in the spirit of excellence with integrity and compassion for the saved as well as the unsaved. We will reach the lost, the wounded, and the unwanted by means of the spirit of God to restore, revive, recover, and reconcile that which is lost. Furthermore, we will serve them with the utmost level of love, compassion, and respect. Our goal is to carry the absolute gospel to the whole world; making known that salvation consists of repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:38. In addition, we are determined to continue steadfastly in the teachings of the apostles; producing and maintaining a clean ministry and fellowship.

Baptism

Baptism by immersion should be administered in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to those who have reached the age of understanding.
Infant baptisms are not conducted in ReDigging the Foundation Ministries; rather infants are dedicated to God.

Ministry History

Apostle Sonja and her husband Overseer Jason, along with our late Assistant Pastor, Elder Cynthia Wood were consecrated, commissioned, and charged by God and their spiritual leader, Bishop Alvin J. McCoy, Prelate & Founder of Apostolic Ministries, Incorporated, during 2008 Holy Convocation to begin a work in Durham, North Carolina. Our first meeting was held in the home of Overseer and Apostle Sonja Theodore with Assistant Pastor, Elder Cynthia Wood on April 23, 2009, during which the name of the ministry ReDigging the Foundation Ministries and the mission statement was birthed out.

In August of 2010, our first service was held at the YWCA on Hargett Street in Raleigh, NC. The ministry remained there for 8 months before moving to 2600 W. Carver Street, Suite D. in Durham, NC. The vision of the ministry is to reach the lost, the wounded, and the unwanted; to restore, revive, reconcile and serve them with the utmost level of love, compassion, and respect. To make known to God’s people that salvation consists of repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:38.

The Godhead

We believe in one God.  We believe God was the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and the Holy Ghost in regeneration.  Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. He is both human and divine.

Fundamental Doctrine

The basic and fundamental doctrine of this church shall be the Bible standard of full salvation; which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongue as the spirit gives utterance.

The Sanctified Life

In order to escape the judgment of God and to have the hope of enjoying the glory of eternal life, one must be thoroughly saved from his or her sins, wholly sanctified unto God, and filled with the Holy Ghost. A wholly sanctified life is the only true standard of a Christian life.

Rules/Discipline of Order

Our discipline and order comes from the Word of God as taught and directed by the Holy Spirit. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another -showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.
~ II Timothy 3:16-17

The Second Coming

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ. That He is coming in person, is a doctrine clearly set forth in apostolic times. Jesus taught it, the Apostles preached it, and the saints expected it.

Salvation

Salvation is followed by the living of a holy, spirit filled life which are signs that should be witnessed by all men. We must earnestly contend for the faith striving to live according to the standards set by God.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. ~Jude 1:3
