Pastor, Apostle Sonja D. Theodore

Apostle Sonja Theodore begins her bio with, “All Praise and Glory belongs to God, The Author and Finisher of my faith”, in whom she grew to understand and know that “His Word” is the only Dictionary that defines her and not another!  Apostle Sonja was born and raised in Farrell, PA.  After graduating from high school in 1980, she joined the Army and served her country for 14 years, and honorably discharged in 1995.  In 1983, she gave her life to God in Heidelberg, Germany, and accepted her calling while stationed in Seoul Korea, in 1990.  Later, ordained an Elder, under the training and counsel of her spiritual father, Bishop Alvin J. McCoy through New and Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, in 1999. Apostle Sonja authored two books, “Deliverance is a matter of choice” self-published and “Birthed for Purpose! professionally published through Publish America.

Apostle Sonja graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, from the University of Arizona, and received a certificate of completion in biblical studies through the Full Gospel Bible Institute in Farrell, PA. She was called to Pastor in November 2008, and later established a work in Durham, NC; along with her husband, Bishop Jason Theodore and the late Elder Cynthia Wood.  Apostle was affirmed to the office of Apostleship in 2013, and in 2021, spiritually appointed the District Apostle over the 3rd Episcopal District of Apostolic Ministries International, Inc. Southern District.

In 2017, Apostle Sonja was inspired, by God, to start broadcasting R.T.F Ministries, Sunday morning worship and special services, on the local cable network called, “The People’s Channel,” televised in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Durham, NC.  In 2020, she and Elder Taneesha Williams, were inspired by God, to livestream a mother and daughter talk show called “The ReStart Broadcast!“ to encourage the body of Christ, strongly emphasizing, it’s not too late to start over in God.  Apostle Sonja has been very instrumental in encouraging and training many leaders, both men and women, for the kingdom of God!

Apostle Theodore has ministered the word of God throughout the United States and overseas.  She is a dedicated leader who leads by precept and example. Apostle Sonja is the second of five siblings, born to Overseer Flora L. Newby, and the late Deacon Henry E. Newby. A mother of 2, Asst. Chief Elder Taneesha Williams and Apostle Richard and Pastor Lady Layla Williams, as well as, the grandmother of Moses Aaron, Olivia Rose, and Leah Mae Williams. She is married to Bishop Jason Theodore of RTF Ministry, who labors tirelessly with her as her spiritual covering and confidante as she pastors’ ReDigging the Foundation {R.T.F.} Ministries of the Apostolic faith.

Birthed for Purpose! was written to challenge, encourage, and inspire God’s creation.  This book is based on the word of God, as well as personal experiences, to illustrate several biblical teachings.  In modern Christianity, the concept of purpose is lost; nevertheless, it is important for you to know that you were not merely an accident waiting to happen, but a well-thought-out plan in the mind of God!  Purpose is something that everyone needs to know about, but very few know how to find it.  You will never understand your purpose until you develop a relationship with the one who created you. He’s the only one who can reveal to you the reason for your existence.  Satan knows that much power could be released into your life once you understand your purpose and that is why he is trying to keep you in the dark concerning your true identity.
